Further information about the Quantomba Math Summer Camp is available on its Hebrew website.
Quantomba 1900 is an advanced and innovative two-week summer camp dedicated to the study of quantum computing at the level of fundamental theory and basic practice. The camp introduces participants to core concepts in quantum computation, including hands-on experimentation with quantum computers and familiarization with basic algorithms in the field, alongside a rich and enjoyable social program featuring activities such as swimming, movies, and excursions.
Quantomba serves as a follow-up camp to the Tomba and Comba summer camps, delivered at a more advanced level. The program takes place on the Technion campus and is conducted in parallel with Tomba and Comba, following a similar academic format. The camp offers a full campus experience, including residence in Technion dormitories throughout the weekdays.
The camp is intended for high school students who have successfully completed Tomba and Comba, as well as for students with a particularly strong academic background in mathematics. Enrollment is limited to approximately twenty participants each year, enabling an intensive and focused learning environment.
Studies are conducted according to a dedicated curriculum developed by the Technion Faculty of Mathematics specifically for the camp. Participants study in small groups of five under the guidance of academic counselors who are students from the Faculty of Mathematics. Towards the end of the program, a competition is held between student groups, providing an opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired during the camp. In addition, researchers from the Faculty of Mathematics deliver enrichment lectures on mathematical topics related to quantum theory.
All academic activities are conducted in Hebrew and take place on the Technion campus. During the weekdays, participants reside in the Technion dormitories and return home for Shabbat. Outside academic hours, the students are accompanied by camp counselors who oversee the social activities and students’ well-being.
*This camp is a joint project of the Faculty of Mathematics and The Helen Diller Quantum Center
The tuition fee for the camp is 2,150 NIS.
