From a High School to the Technion

“From a High School to the Technion” is a program that enables outstanding middle and high school students to pursue academic courses at the Technion alongside their regular school studies. These courses are recognized toward a Bachelor of Science degree at the Technion, and admission to the Technion’s Faculties of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data and Decision Sciences, Mathematics, and Physics may be granted on the basis of students’ achievements in these courses, without the requirement of a matriculation certificate or a psychometric exam score. Completion of a full matriculation certificate is, however, required in order to receive an academic degree from the Technion.

The program is jointly managed by the Noam Center for Youth and the Technion Youth Activities Unit, and forms part of a broader framework titled “Integrating High School Students into Studies at the Technion,” which allows high school students to enroll in academic-level courses at the Technion. Within an agreement between the Technion and the Israeli Ministry of Education, some of the courses offered through the program are also included in the national “Academia in High School” initiative, enabling students to substitute certain matriculation exam grades with grades earned in corresponding academic courses at the Technion.  More information is available on the program webpage in Hebrew.
